you cross the liner over itself and button it using the button and button hole on the liner itself

which appear to be from wood worm/beetles

There are two spots of repair on the shoulder (perhaps where a patch used to be)

Printed Sailor Tea Towel pre-WWII Even in the 1930's theseVintage 1940s printed tea towel. Nice nautical theme with sailors, anchors and seagulls. Fairly good condition. It shows some wear and use. The material weave is slightly uneven. There are a few faint pink spots. Some very very light stains (you don't really see them unless you look close. I did photograph them, but they don't really show.) Freshly laundered.
