These seem to break somewhat frequently and can make the bipod rather useless

but it I am fairly confident it is wartime or earlier

There are some stains on the cover and throughout the book. The spine has some small tears. Shorthand was fairly common during the war and is rather complicated, making some original documents impossible to read unless maybe you have this book to help decipher it. It measures approximately 8 3 8" by 5 7 8".
