The buttons were probably cut off in the post war period to use for other garments or simply to stop them catching on things

The box is a little warped which is fairly typical

The buttons are a gold color but the photos make them look yellow

It is interesting to see places with their German names. I could not find a date, but this is likely interwar or "medium sized" Germany. It has some damage and staining.
