The body is solid and still has a lot of original green paint. There is also a lot of caked on stuff on the sides. It was used for something other than food after the war. The inside is fairly clean but had a funky chemical odor when I bought it. I would recommend scrubbing the inside with a wire brush until absolutely every surface was shiny aluminum and then clean it and
