Pack straps dont get in the way while digging around in the main compartment, and while they arent fully removable, they are easy to unclip at the base of the straps and stash in the dedicated sleeve in the lid

I work in the jungle, so that backpack is always with me, and its life is not easy:) hiking, kayaking, or just taking the rain at the back of the pickup truck

The only downside to this design is that the unpadded center strip digs into our spines when we're bent forward on a bike
